Philips 40PFL5706 Review
Philips 40PFL5706 1080p 120 Hz 40-inch LCD HDTV with Net TV [Black]
Review By ” J-Clifford”
I decided after much searching and price comparisons for the Philips 40PFL5706.
Decision criteria were: Full HD HDTV with 120Hz – 120 Hz are sufficient, more than this, is always unnecessary and hardly noticeable to the naked eye, and LCDs TV from Philips.
I have it now since 7 days and I am fully satisfied.
What’s in the Box:
Table top stand, Power cord, remote control, 2 AAA batteries, user manual, quick start guide, warranty card, power cord and cable ties.
How it looks:
The TV is black and has a swivel stand. It is highly polished which unfortunately attracts the dust. As for LCD TVs are common today, he is very slim and does not have much weight.
What can he do?
Ensures the TV has a diagonal of 102 cm and naturally has full HD resolution, which for great pictures and sharpness. Clear Sound to provide for clear and pure tone. He also has a DVB-C and DVB-T tuner built-in.
The practical test:
Once unpacked the TV and put in its place was followed by the first test: After switching follows the quick setup with language and date. This is completely automatic. Subsequently about the menu to set up the TV station. The stations are searched and stored automatically. Now is still connected via the HDMI cable Blu Ray player to the television. Done. Is quick and easy.
The first test with Blu Ray: The picture on the TV and the sound is crisp and clear without any noise. The picture is excellent. Even with black / white scenes there is hardly any other grains or pixelate to be seen. This is really great and sharp. The tone sounds is just good, depending on which scene goes.
The workmanship is first class. There is no cracking on the outer skin or otherwise. Class! The base is made of metal, providing even more security and stability. What I find particularly good: The TV has a USB stick with which one can view images and movies directly from the stick on the TV.
My conclusion:
Chic, sophisticated look, great processing and excellent picture and sound quality have convinced me. Pixel Precise HD and Clear Sound guarantee cinema experience at home and the setup is easy and done within a few minutes and steps. Connecting via HDMI from the Blu Ray player is exploited to the full extent of the television in terms of image and sound. I give 5 stars!
