LG 42LV5500 Review
LG Smart TV – 42LV5500 LED HDTV 1080p 120Hz
42LV5500 Review By “N.O.T”
I bought this LCD for my family in April, as it needed a new TV, and saw it was on offer ($989.00), I decided it might be a good buy.
The TV looks good: it has a simple and elegant design and the stand is adequate for a panel of this size. The keys on the board, to gain access to the main functions are to touch and very sensitive (well done).
The installation is the point that left me a bit confused. It’s clear that the target of this type of television is the audience young enough to easy understand, but at least an instruction manual could put it on paper. In short, installing and storing channels is placed in a simple and pleasant, but the less experienced may still be in difficulties.
Going into actual operation of the TV, excellent interface for the selection of channels (with HD tuner built in): the channels can be stored in the preferred order in a few seconds (in the first installation ) and to go from digital to analog tuner (or radio) simply re-press the button on the channel you’re watching.
It has a high contrast ratio and saturated colors, full, and fairly light. The viewing angle is quite good, and even if you look at a certain angle does not lose color.
The high refresh rate (120hz) it helps to have sharper images in some cases, but sometimes it makes changes very fast shot dynamic and fast moving scenes of some movies are unclear (even seems to me that there is a light trail effect).
All this you can reduce and nearly eliminate due to the numerous options provided by the Image Adjust menu, really “infinite.”
As for the audio, I must say that is good, as far as quality, but not so good in “power.” The dialogues in some movies sometimes get lost and need to raise the volume to levels that normally would not be given. Even this, however, may attenuate the activation of the filter “clear voice” that accentuates the tones of voice in the audio.
The part that I rate this TV are excellent connections:
has a scart, and a composite RGB, 4 HDMI, and more particularly 2 USB.
The latter is particularly useful for those who want to see movies and pictures on television. Most common formats are supported, including those in high definition, such as. Mkv and Xvid, and playback quality is excellent. Personally I tried to watch several movies and pictures, put on a usb hard drive connected, and I was very pleased.
In conclusion, it is a product that satisfied me, especially for 2 USB connectivity, design, interface and service.
So you see much better than other competitors, with a relatively low price compared to others, I recommend it
