LG 47CM565 Review
LG 47CM565 47-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV
Review By “George C. Forbis”
I got the LG 47CM565 for a couple of days ago and I was already impressed by the sheer size. Unpacking was simple, the item in its original packaging LG padded properly. Only the stand needs to be assembled and ready to go.
The first set was quite simple, the TV asks default settings (picture settings, sound settings, etc.). This time I have left at all “standard”. Directly started the first movie, Top picture quality! . The picture is great and dark scenes do not make problems.
HD movies are shown crisp, 3D movies are also good. What I was particularly impressed was the 2D-to-3D conversion! I had my doubts, but it works perfectly! Of course not voted as good as native 3D movies, but the picture and the depths are noticeably better.
I played Far Cry 3 in 2D-to-3D mode and it was fantastic!
The environment looks as if you could touch everything. The Jungle looks authentic, for the other games, I have not tested this (Far Cry 3 is of course in itself a brilliant graphics, with or without 3D).
The remote has a nice touch and is clearly designed – you can find your way around easily.
Nevertheless, the LG 47CM565 has a bitter aftertaste … The Settings! The default settings are sufficient for normal use … But for a great 3D experience still needs to be set stuff. There are no standard for “perfect settings”, in my opinion – a colleague and I had been the first test differences in the debate on the optimal settings. The then everybody has set for itself.
Surely there will be one or the other little thing you could complain about – or not even.
For Normal users / beginners of 3D, LG 47CM565 is a TOP unit. The price of $600, is outstanding – you will find nothing like it in the whole market for that price. Innately very demanding customers, or people with a fat wallet should prefer to devices in a higher price range (from $800 – $1,000 Most devices have no longer the little weaknesses of LG 47CM565).
Anyway, I’m super happy and the device can only recommend to anyone looking for an affordable entry-level 3D TV. >> See All Customer Reviews
