Philips 55PFL5705D 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LCD HDTV
Review By “Jim Malone”
I bought just before the cold season, a new TV, Philips LCD TV 55PFL5705D. He blends in harmoniously with its elegant design, located in my living room and now gives me some remarkable movie experiences.
I have briefly summarized the most important facts and experiences for me to convey an impression of the device.
DVB-T and DVB-C tuner is included, which are now for digital TV via antenna has become necessary. So the television fun begin immediately. The device has several features and leaves little to be desired.
The integrated electronic program guide, EPG in short, provides an overview on TV for the next 8 days and makes every TV magazine superfluous. There is also a function for automatic volume limiter, for example in ads and the viewers of unwanted.
The 55PFL5705D Philips LCD TV is of sufficient size with a screen size of 140 cm (55″) for my big living room. My couch is about 3m from the screen and the size ratio seems consistent. Ensure the full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and the 240 Hz technology for flicker-free and highly-detailed image. Especially the 240Hz frequency ensures lag-free motion video.
The problem I had, with friends who have a 120 Hz LCD TV, frequently observed. Especially in sports, like football games, was there often a tightening of the image. But with this Philips, All movements are very fluid and without delay. Also the colors are very natural, so I can not praise the unit in terms of picture quality only.
To watch movies, makes really fun. The 16:9 screen format reinforces the emerging cinema sensation and can also cut the edges from nothing. Even in fairly oblique angles everything is crisp and clear.
The sound is an often underestimated aspect when buying a new TV. I am of the opinion, who really wants to have a good sound should connect to the 5.1 Dolby surround system. If that’s too expensive, here goes for the performance offered by Philips with the integrated amplifier provides 20 watts of sound and It is extremely well at high volume levels are not overtaxed.
Conclusion
I was thrilled the Philips 55PFL5705D almost without exception. Image quality, features and design are exemplary for this class. The price-performance ratio is consistent. >> More Reviews <<
