Sony 32EX523 32-Inch 1080p LED TV with Integrated WiFi [Black]

Review By “Rick Gibson”

bravia kdl 32ex523 Sony 32EX523 ReviewThis is new Sony TV, launched in 2011. It is a small TV ideal for a bedroom or  not very big living room, for a distance of 2.5 meters of the eyes. The distance can tell by the formula TV x 8 Inches. So 32×8 = 256 cm, or 2.56 meters.

It consumes only 77 watts (Max), which would be a B energy scale, which is not bad and it has more options for energy savings.

The picture itself (in my opinion) is playing better than its rivals Samsung LN32D5500 (compared them in a store with the same picture settings).

Design
The exterior design is modern compared to other brands. The assembly is simple. You can also put on the wall. The lower horizontal part is wider than the others and has a special finish in dark gray, and anthracite.

Picture Quality
It is FullHD 1920 x 1080p. The picture quality is very good, a lot of definition, So clearly. The Black color is deeper than LCD TV, which improves the image. In the picture settings I have set the following settings: Backlight = Brightness 43, Color 65, Hue 0, Color Temp Neutral, Sharpness 55. The high-definition channels are great, The Blu-ray look spectacular.

Remote Control and Processing
The instruction manual is on TV and is accessed by pressing i-MANUAL. The TV tells you step by step how to access its functions with this button, which makes the paper manual is shorter. This is well explained.

The control buttons are also recording TV, pause, forward, etc. The HOME button is key, here are the settings of all kinds, access to video, photography, music, Facebook, Twitter, widgets, Skype (need to connect a camera and a microphone), video search engine, music, Internet Explorer ( you can access any website, but it is hard to go with arrows), Bravia Internet video (Video on demand, YouTube, Picasa, etc..) recording, TV, etc.. You can connect to internet via cable or WiFi.

OPTIONS button are the most common options as image adjustments, sound, screen format, presence sensor (to save power if no one, but it is very precise, it turns off the TV if you do not move, etc.). Sync Menu function is to communicate with BRAVIA compatible devices using an HDMI cable.

Sound Quality
It has 10 watts per channel or 20 watts of power. In practical it does not mean much, because being so flat a TV does not have physical ability to play the bass sound, like the majority of LCD and LED. It has the functions, and Surround S-Force Front Surround 3D but barely noticeable.

Ideally, connect a stereo amplifier or home theater speakers that reproduce the bass and treble.

Recording and Playback
This TV can record TV programs on an external hard drive. You can also program the TV to record. You have to format the hard drive before. The remote control can start recording by pressing REC. I have not tried, but it seems that the hard drive must be used exclusively for this TV. It also plays video, photos and music from a USB-connected device.

CONCLUSION
This LED TV Sony has an excellent picture. Sound, like most LCD’s and LED’s, no serious plays well and is better fit a stereo. You can enter all websites (with the arrows on the remote), watch videos, Internet, conference Skype, Picasa, etc. You can record TV on an external hard drive and play back photos, videos and music, but only in certain formats.

Technology has changed and the concept of television is different now, and are not like CRT tube televisions 15 years ago. It has many ways of entertainment, You can also stay home all day with the Sony 32EX523!. >> More Reviews <<
