ST42DMSB Review By “Pete the Massive”

I have bought the Hannspree ST42DMSB LCD TV as a secondary device. There should be a cheap device to be possible with an acceptable image. Since I will only connect a HD satellite receiver via HDMI, the TV should have at least 2 of them. The other connections such as for example Scart I do not need.

The Hannspree LCD TV has 3 HDMI inputs, and offers full-HD! Hard to believe at this price.
I then searched a long time on the Internet for opinions and tests. I have found a few of opinions, but these were quite positive.
Then I ordered it on Amazon. Delivery was fast as always.

Unpacking, I have it connected quickly, a DVB-T antenna tuned in and turned on.
Then initial installation was performed. Select language, Automatic tuning channel start, it was within minutes found all available channels and stored. Sorting station is not a problem. Done. It was very easy.

The remote control is quite good in the hand and the keys I think are arranged according to logical. However that is as always a matter of taste.

When the first picture came, I was surprised. Makes a good impression. However I played around a little bit of brightness, contrast, color and sharpness for a better picture. Is indeed a matter of taste. Then I noticed that the sound is just ok.

So I’m doing further research, I tried HD satellite receiver, HDMI cable connected, the input channel is changed and Wow !!!!! The first picture, I saw now was the first in HD. Picture quality on the display is beautiful, brilliant and vivid colors. No a jerk or something bad.

The unit I can only recommend. The picture and sound quality are very good for the price. Ideal as a secondary device for people who are in the bedroom, office or garden. Recommended ? Yes, absolutely!!
