The size of the television screen has never been a problem for me, indeed I never chased the industry news and up to a month ago, the larger television came into my house was a 24-inch.
Actually see a newscast on a screen 32 inches instead of 24 does not make much difference but with the programs offered by satellite TV, the advent of DVD players increasingly sophisticated and perfect, the wider range of films available in purchase or rental led me to start to consider buying a TV last generation.
First I assessed the size of the screen. This must be well proportioned to the room where you intend to install it also checking its distance from the point of sitting in order to have the best vision without straining the eyes.
And eventually I came to decide on a 42 inch.
The second choice concerned the technology to Buy: Plasma or LCD?
A difficult choice. If one considers the price choice virtually Plasma wins hands down.
Plasma screen looks better and brilliance, each pixel on the screen emits light.
The LCD screen instead uses the same technology as PC monitors. Working on a uniform light source that operates behind a layer of points of resolution (pixels) made from liquid crystal polarized, and polarization controls the color of light passing through the pixels.
The technology of this solution is increasingly evolving and have practically solved, almost complete, problems with brightness, response speed and viewing angle.
Therefore, the choice would fall on the LCD TV had it not been for the price. Indeed, the production process is more expensive and therefore the same number of inches the LCD costs almost twice Plasma.
So I decided to buy LCD TV Hitachi L42s503.
One of the reasons that LCD to the choice of this model is its ability to display images according to the High Definition (HD). With a resolution of 1920 x 1024.
Through the DVI and RGB outputs can be connected to monitors of our computers (the first is for those with flat screen, the second for the old CRT monitors).
There are three SCART outputs and in this way you can connect the PS2, the decoder for digital TV, video camera and video recorder.
Do not miss the classic output to connect the traditional coaxial cable antenna.
Even the aesthetic wants its share.
The screen on this TV has a border of black pearl. The edges, top and bottom are finished in brushed aluminum. On both sides are mounted the two speakers that are an integral part of the CTV. They too are edged with strips of brushed aluminum.
Everything is assembled on a swivel base that lets you choose the viewing angle (you can also adjust with the remote).
I was surprised by the weight which is only 41 pounds, even though in slices are always two people to lift.
Once installed, I went to program it by choosing the order in which the different programs to appear after the ignition.
The remote is very easy to use. You can control all TV functions as well as the rotation of the swivel base.
The pictures are perfect, clear, warm colors and the right contrast. Seated at the right distance the images appear as if the cinema.
Even the sound is perfect through the choice depending on the program you are viewing: films, music, spoken. There is also a fourth possibility that their custom.
The Hitachi L42s503 has many other uses which I have not yet been able to prove in full.
On the screen you can see simultaneously up to 12 different programs (clearly sound like if they can choose only one). You may pay the still image.
If you’re considering buying a large screen TV and Full HD, if you want a TV that can connect your computer if you want the perfect picture, Hitachi L42s503 should be your choice.
It hard to find, for the same price, something comparable, and offers excellent value for money.
A TV that I recommend without hesitation.
