KDL-40w5100 Review
Sony KDL-40W5100 Review by : “5 cents”
For my new house I decided to buy this model of Sony, has always been number one for me in terms of television, which today has led to new technologies.
The choice was not easy, now that we can find an enormous amount of models in various model in Amazon.First of all. The choice was between 37,40,42 inches. Initially I was more focused on a 37-inch, but then I noticed that Sony does not produce this measure, or at least very difficult to find in the market, went from 32 to 40 inches. So the option was for a 37-inch Philips Ambilight. The price was the same, but the colors, I think, led me towards the Sony because it has a tendency to shade cooler than the Philips and less marked red.
Eventually I get the Sony! The huge box, I suggest you delivery from Amazon (free shipping) take home!
Installation is very simple, as indeed for all TVs of this sort. Simply insert the media behind the TV and fix it with four screws and you’re done. In the back is a compartment to hide the cable that goes to the outlet, really comfortable really.
In the box we find the TV, of course, its support for the remote control with batteries and multilingual instruction manual.
When you first switch is automatic selection of channels and the vision remains tuned to digital terrestrial. You must not do anything except turn on the TV with the appropriate button on the side. Then, if you want to make changes to the settings you must enter into the menu and select the desired setting.
The menus, however, are very simple and intuitive, all reachable through a remote control very comprehensive and easy to use, in short, a television accessible to virtually everyone. Needless to say that connectivity is on top, with power USB, HDMI, connection to home theater and more is already fitted with a special slot for cards of pay-television. So, has it all!
The picture quality is superb, the contrast is very good, with a ratio of 100,000 to 1 (the data is clearly on the scale of contrast Sony home), more than enough for good vision. Also it is a 100Hz TV for viewing even sharper moving images, thanks to the rule called “motion flow”. Of course we are dealing with a car full HD.
Being an LCD TV energy consumption is already considerably reduced compared to the old CRT TVs, but in this there is also a regulation on energy conservation at three levels: Saving energy absent, low and high. Clearly varies the intensity of the brightness of the LCD panel. I always use the high energy saving mode, also because I prefer the colors are not too intense. This way I can save 40% energy without sacrificing image quality.
After 6 months of use I think I’m fully satisfied with my purchase, definitely I would do that with closed eyes. I can not wait to exploit it with a Blu-ray player or a pay-tv hd to enjoy the full potential of this unit.
Now you can also find a lower price (I paid him $999.99!), and even more strongly recommend it!
