Sharp 3D HDTV LC40LE835U Review
Sharp Quattron LC40LE835U 40-inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED-LCD HDTV [Black]
Review By “Joel Berry”
I already had a Sharp Aquos 32″ HDTV in use from 2006 and was always satisfied. Now it should be one size larger and I remained faithful in Sharp!.
I have this TV now for about two months of operation. And He looks very good with piano lacquer. Because the frame is very narrow and everything is handled very high quality.
The LCD panel of the old model and was changed to the new panel “X-Gen LCD panel”, the display is very resistant to reflections and glare. These viewing angles I’ve rarely seen in LCD TV. The illumination is very good.
The menu was intuitive and easy. The basic installation was done quickly.
The picture quality is stunningly good. The SD picture is absolutely fine, HD is more than great. The 4-color display is amazing, not just an advertising gimmick. If you adjust the TV properly, then you see the difference. Also the black levels I’ve never experienced before on a TV. Clouding zero.
The 3d function is a very nice feature. You can enjoy the movies experience with breathtaking 3D effect and appropriate 3D glasses. If you own this device, you should definitely order the glasses and use this functionality, because it’s worth it! Also, the 2D-3D conversion works perfectly. We never would have believed that 3D makes it so much fun.
Selling point was the low energy consumption of the TV set. We have measured, agree the advertised low consumption and can be influenced by a number of settings in the menu too. I enabled the automatic brightness adjustment. This works very well and reliably.
To set up the wireless functionality, including access to the Win7 PC, I only needed a few minutes. YouTube, Weather, Picasa, streams from the PC ‘no problem. I think that fairly technically savvy contemporaries should have no problems.
The play multimedia from the computer home network via wireless or external USB mass storage devices is an important function for us. The navigation path through the structures of the media is shared quickly. Work fine!
There are also picture-in-picture features, it does not, we find that unnecessary. The interaction with other manufacturers’ equipment with HDMI port works well.
What is surprising about the whole thing is the price. The devices are considerably cheaper than the competition.
So for the prices and performance ratio, we can absolutely recommend this TV, 5 stars are well deserved.
