LG 55LW6500 55″ Class 3D capable 1080p 240Hz LED TV with SmartTV (Included: Four Pairs of 3D Glasses)

Review By “Cadman-F”

lg 55lw6500 LG Infinia 55LW6500 ReviewI bought this TV because, I’m a video gamer, I needed a product that can offer the right connectivity for all my console. Also I love watching movies, So finding a product that will settle both, without compromise has not been easy. The choice finally fell on, LG 55LW6500 is a 55-inch 3D LED TV with Full HD.

The video quality in Full HD provides a very detailed rendering. The contrast can be adjusted dynamically, which ensures that an adjustment of the image depending on the content of the image. Also interesting is the possibility to adjust the colors in every detail, creating personal profiles that fit all needs. The upscaler on the television, of excellent quality. More than once I’ve seen the DVD (standard definition) and be surprised by the detailed performance despite the big screen size.

It must be said that the 240hz refresh rate combined with a technology called “Tru Motion” avoids the interlacing of frames making scenes handled much more detailed. I must admit that this technology excites me.

Another interesting feature of the TV is the possibility to get online (via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi adapter sold separately) and enjoy the service “LG SmartTV” This service connects the TV to allow Facebook to see their photos, as well as Picasa, Twitter, Google Maps, Weather forecast and with several interesting channels of video on demand.

The most interesting part of the TV for me is the connectivity. I state that in my house there are, in order, a home theater system with DVD player, a decoder for HD channel , Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. We speak of six sources, which require many takes. The TV has four HDMI inputs, which solve the problem for the decoder and the two consoles in high definition. The DVD player I plugged in the scart (although using it mainly as a sound system, since the DVD I see the Playstation 3). Playstation 2 and Nintendo Wii can be connected in component or composite. Of course it is preferable to link the component, since the video quality is significantly better in this format. Well, this TV has two component inputs (one of two activities with a tiny adapter included with the TV). This is a feature rarely found in television sets, which for me as a fan of video games is a real godsend.

Also interesting is the TV’s audio output, able to convert any input source (whether it be HDMI, Scart, composite, etc.) into an optical signal, ready to be sent to your home theater system. The optical signal is compatible with Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Pro Logic II.

Finally, the TV has two USB inputs on which you can upload audio, video and images. I will speak only of the video, because the USB input is compatible with myriad of video formats, including Matroska MKV format in high definition. And, believe it or not, in this format you can also see a 3D movie. I downloaded some trailers in high definition 3D, put on stick and they work perfectly.

Now we come to 3D. I state that I am not a fan of 3D movies, and frankly I think this technology is not at all perfect. As the 3D movies of this TV has many inaccuracies, and the 3D effect – as seen – and sometimes that creates bad feeling of “seeing each other twice”. However, I noticed that it depends on the movies, Some movies have caused a bad headache for me. Unfortunately I lack the evidence “Avatar,” the only movie in the cinema has given me the impression of a 3D done really well. I hope to get a copy as soon as possible. Obviously, the 3D is also compatible with games that support this technology, not bad for the fans.

In the package,It included four pairs of 3D glasses, rechargeable batteries with a USB cable connected directly to the TV. Battery life, however, allows you to see several movies before having to proceed with a charge.

Well, considering that this TV is the cheapest 3D 240hz television available on the market. It was a very busy month with this new gem in the house, capable of giving us so many beautiful moments in movies and video games. For me 2011, certainly more colorful and explosive with my new TV.
