40PFL7705D/F7 Review By “Nathaniel”

Philips 40PFL7705D/F7 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED LCD HDTV with NetTV, Black

philips 40pfl7705d Philips 40PFL7705D/F7 ReviewI own it for about 4 months and I’m very satisfied.
I use it mostly with SKY HD, but also with Digital Cable, with XBOX 360, and a multimedia box WD to see movies of my HD camcorder. Here are the impressions of use.

The Philips 40PFL7705D/F7 – according to my taste – provides images of superb quality. We must premise that many adjustments are possible in a genuinely affecting yield very significant images.

However, with settings that meet my taste, I can say that the HD images are razor sharp, very fast, with colors “alive” and with a superb depth of blacks: I have not seen a LCD TV with HD images best, and when I think this is objectively the top. I remember at all (although it is easy to find the specific site of Philips), which is a 120Hz LCD and LED lighting array, and that these are characteristics that – in a good LCD TV – add considerable quality to images. Even the standard images are handled very well.

Sound is  Good, Human voices are sharp and rich in detail. The music you hear pretty well when accompanying a film, but do not plan to use it as a music system … The sound effects leave a little to be desired however, because the audio is deficient on bass.

For a given high quality of the images, we must think of external accessories (ie sound projector), or connect to a hi-fi system, as I did.
But I think we can easily satisfy even the system as it is.

All main functions are easy to use. The remote is very nice. Shame I can not take control of the Sky receiver (though that Sky can control the main functions of this TV).

All the TV from an impression of great strength and quality: no “plastic” or crackling, everything really well done and high quality.

Completely useless NET-TV … is just a gadget marketing: do not you use it ever!
Also, I failed in any way to stream my pictures and my movies from your Mac to the TV in wifi, as it should be possible according to the specifications of the TV. I had to connect a multimedia box via HDMI.

Good connections: it has several really, and conveniently located. Virtually useless internet connection.Very fast teletext. Fast and accurate tuning digital Signal.

Comfortable can update the firmware of the TV via the Internet (avoids taking him to the center tracking helper) I’ve already been doing it once, and the procedure is effective and fully automatic.  Allows you to set the picture settings independently for each device, and a mode “dedicated” to video games (faster images), which have a perfect performance.

Ultimately, a really good TV. I think one of the best ever.
