Philips 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
I bought this LCD TV in late December of 2009, taking advantage of an offer Amazon.com, paying so only 980 Dollars instead of 1,049 Dollars^ ^.
Already we can see some things from the package:
First, it is huge, if ordered on the Internet I recommend, if you live alone, order a delivery shippung and the weight of the package, in fact, is around 40 kg.
There are two boxes, one inside the other deacon, the outer one takes off, so the tv is easy to take, without cutting or doing strange maneuvers.
The TV weighs around 20 kg and has already mounted the pedestal.
It ‘a show to see: the frame is very thin also that “bulge” around the Philips logo gives it a lot.
The sound bar can be mounted or not, as desired.
We talk about the box: you can say that is the control of the TV and the dimensions are 35 X 35 cm, much larger than appears in the picture, the color black. the creation of this box has meant that the TV have a thickness of only 3 cm.
is connected to your TV via one large cable, approximately 2 m long, to avoid the clutter of wires TV.
The remote is very fine, but unfortunately is not illuminated, such as Samsung. The material is a metal which is, I can not say that, but rest assured, does not feel the cold, the keys are very easy reach and comfortable to the touch.
Let’s now talk of serious things, that panel.
speaks of a dynamic contrast 29000:1 and in fact the blacks are very deep.
Response time of 2 ms and so apparently. the only problem is the shots in the foreground, with a dark background: here the trail can be seen and sometimes is a bit ‘annoying … but unfortunately this is a common feature of all LCD panels … more than 2 radipi ms are not for sale … the only thing it would remedy a plasma, but against these more than double their energy consumption.
for the rest, even in fast panoramic environments, this problem does not arise.
The vision of the TV, I find it great, In the menu you can change a lot the settings, the more classical, like the latest: eg activate or not the natural motions HD, Pixel Plus HD among all who are Philips proprietary image enhancement technologies.
The audio is very good, able to simulate surround .. but I personally do not like this thing ..
I think I’ve said it all, my opinion on this TV is very good, say 80/100 in numbers
Price : $1,000 (May 2010)
