I have decided to buy new HDTV for my family before Christmas. Crucial for me was a 46″ television with a short response time and good technology at a reasonable price to get.
I’ve decided for the Philips 46PFL5706/F7 because It features 120Hz technology and a sufficient number of interfaces, including USB port.
Installation is extremely easy to use and relatively fast, the satellite channel scan took a few minutes, but I think this is absolutely normal, the Sorting program it was ok, But I must have read how to customize the sorting or individually. Also went to the internet connection without any problems.
At full-HD content the picture of the TVs are generally very nice and clear out, the colors are intense, the contrast is good. Now the HD + channels and Bluray movies appear in a breathtaking picture quality. Also Playback of a video file in SD quality from a USB stick work right away.
The wow factor came when I connected my PC. At first everything is blurry. Then I turned on the TV to PC mode. Razor-sharp, no more streaks. Madness! But It probably an input lag of around 50-100ms for gamer, which is noted in any case. That means you can play easily strategy games, DotA, etc., racing games are still acceptable even in Trackmania, it is possible to go well. But with online shooter games, input lag still has a significant impact on the statistical skills in the game.
I find the sound quality is also very good, for the “average consumer” of the sound is certainly more than satisfactory. But It was secondary importance in the selection, because the TV is connected to a 5.1 surround sound system.
For energy savers should mention here that the TV in PC mode requires significantly more power. In traditional settings, it may be partly about 60watts, but in PC mode it consume about 115Watt for more good picture quality, in any case value!
Conclusion
Attractive design, simple operation, great picture. With wall bracket is a real eye-catcher in our living room. Above all, I now Enjoy using the TV for HD programs and Hi-def movies on the beautiful evenings in the coming winter months. Recommended!
