Philips 55 inch HDTV 55PFL5705D/F7 Review
Philips 55 inch TV 55PFL5705D/F7 240 Hz with NetTV [Black]
55PFL5705D/F7 Review By “Wraith 18″
I was looking at and compare so long on and have so many LCD TVs in the various markets considered and discussed in details. The Philips was one of the few who had an impeccable picture quality even without HD. The Philips 55PFL5705D/F7 is not my first LCD TV from Philips. From the picture quality and the service I’ve always been convinced of the mark.
After the first turn it on, automatically starts an installation wizard, super easy step by step, through the initial installation. Settings for the location, the country preferred picture and sound settings, station search and a few other options are set very easy.
55 Inch 1080p with 240 Hz refresh rates. Wow, razor sharp! At this point, Rich clear colors, a contrast top. Bright intense, almost better than reality. Black is black, not gray as previous LCD of Philips. Simply top. Even the SD channels look bombastic. Can express much better. We were sitting in front of the unit and we had no words, open mouths and speechlessness were to be found in the living room.
In the menu on the TV there are also several predefined picture and sound, for example, “movie”, “Standard”, “low power” etc. All the above functions and all other settings via the menu are “relatively” easy to adjust.
I tried to connected Xbox 360. Connected via HDMI cable to the TV, Connected seperate speakers via optical because the built-in speaker I find rather moderate. Picture I’ve rarely seen madness. It could hardly be better, in combination with the sound of absolute peak. And that, for relatively little money.
Also connected, we have to test an external multimedia hard disk on which our music and movies are archived. Similarly, top image.
Interesting Features
- Pixel Plus HD combination of hardware and software to improve the picture with 1080p, strong colors and great contrast. 250 million pixels per second can be calculated. The image enhancement is performed in three steps.
- Net-TV supports the TV as well. If you connect a network cable or an optional WiFi adapter, you have access to hosted Internet-based content from various providers. One can, for example, look at the current weather or news (current or last days).
- Light sensor automatically detects the brightness of the surroundings and adjusts the brightness of the television on-screen. If the room is for example the evening darkens, and obscures the image on the TV easily. When the sun shines on the display is automatically increases the brightness.
In Summary
Comparable my other LCD TVs in the size, the Philips46PFL seen priced in the middle. However, from the equipment and the picture and sound quality is miles ahead. Short and sweet: top quality at a fair price.
