HDTV 1080p plasma TC P42G10 Review
TC-P42G10 42-Inch 1080p Review by : “Panaman”
I was very curious about this new TV from Panasonic (hdtv 1080p 42), I had the opportunity to see a preview at a convention where I saw the Panasonic 50-inch version.
The design of the TV is much thinner than the other versions currently on the market of PANASONIC, making it more enjoyable even to watch from the side.
The port connections is very comprehensive and includes 4 HDMI (1 side) the SD card reader that allows the display of photos and movies in DIVX, 2 scart sockets, RCA side, headphone jack, optical digital audio output , ethernet port, 1 VGA for PC connection, component input and common interface slot for CAM.
The tuner section is very comprehensive and not includes the analog tuner, because now discontinued, including digital terrestrial (regular and HD) and satellite. This then eliminates the meantime a couple of decoders from the stack of products that now accompany every tv older generation. Who decides to buy this TV is just to know that: if you want to tune the TV channels will not have to choose settings for your country.
The tune is takes times about 40 minutes, so arm yourselves with patience. Channel management will be done for list of favorites and also here you should more patience to choose and arrange all the channels one by one.
One of the most interesting things in this version is the VIERA CAST. A series of content being displayed on the TV taken from the web. The LAN port is connected to the ADSL router at home and this will allow you to watch YouTube, Picasa albums, the news video of Eurosport, Bloomberg and the weather section. Youtube is really beautiful and the arrival of HD movies also the yield is pretty good, taking into account the quality of video offered.
The video search is performed using the buttons on the remote a bit ‘as a phone. If you get the chance go to some store and favorites show, it’s worth it.
The configuration for the Internet is quite trivial, unlike the line, if your router has DHCP (virtually all) do not have to do is connect the network cable and connect, otherwise you can set to hand the IP address, subnet , gateway, and DNS servers.
Fortunately, the configuration menu are quite simple and intuitive and not require skills of an engineer to set everything.
The LAN connection also allows access to your PC if it is networked, so it can take and view pictures and videos contained on your hard disk.
The plasma panel is the G12 version FULL HD 600Hz technology. This allows a fluidity of really good pictures.
My opinion remains unchanged, plasma still have something more than the LCD, the visual quality is excellent, the images are realistic with natural colors and good depth of field. Even watching analog broadcasts as digital noise on screen is always very low and never annoying. The wakes and drag are virtually nonexistent.
Watching sports programs is certainly another level of experience, especially for those who can enjoy high definition. In any case are not too many words, go see it, just to convince that this will be a ‘good buy.
The price is $940 – $1169 and free shipping (if you buy from amazon) but its worth all. For full details, as always, I refer you to the site of Panasonic.
