I own the PN51D550 now almost 2 weeks and I’m really absolutely thrilled!
I sit 8-9 feet from my new HDTV (leaning back on the sofa). I run it on a HD receiver and the PS3.
The picture quality of the PN51D550 amazes me even now, again and again. Previously had a 47 inch Full HD LCD of the LG was far inferior in all respects.
The Samsung offers brilliant contrast, a wonderfully rich black, a truly incredible natural color reproduction and an absolutely stunning, almost exaggerated sharpness with HD material. Also the sharpness of movement, for example. Football on HD channel is just top!
It should be run for short periods for, the right at the beginning to produce the aforementioned super natural colors. Initially had the colors always funny, somehow unnatural, but after short periods of time (an estimated 15 to 20 hours), when they are converging, veeeery good, natural color reproduction showed.
The 3D functionality is also fully convinced me, after my eyes adjusted to it. It took several hours, in my case I played Crysis 2 in 3D. In 3D is all razors sharp, the colors are good and it produces almost no ghosting. And SD material looks relatively very well, but you should do not expect miracles here (especially considering the size of the Samsung’s and SD is just not HD).
Like this throughout the internal tuner of the TV, I cannot say because for me everything from HD satellite. Even the sound quality of the internal speakers, I cannot comment, because for me everything is on my surround system.
The humming noise not audible if in normal TV, movies and video game use. However, If everything is muted I can just hear the hum even the distance of 6 feet, But from a distance of about 9 feet, I’m not heard anything.
The Samsung also has 1 USB port on it plays almost all formats, at least more than my PS3.
So who can live without the Internet gadgets, the Real Black filter (for mainly in bright conditions of use) and the recording function of the larger plasma models from Samsung (like me) get it here, It is a cheap plasma TV with really brilliant, perfect picture quality! So I’m really convinced absolutely PN51D550.
