Who is looking after a very good home theater equipment and would like to draw on a plasma TV, which should consider the purchase of the Samsung PN59D550.

I have the PN59D550 gained after long research and finally got it yesterday and immediately tested. I can only say that the first impression was more than awesome.

The design of the TV works fine and the structure is very simple. Two men can handle this without problems (despite the size). The menus on the TV itself is very clear and well designed. Each function is described in one short sentence, what exactly causes this.

The picture quality with HD material (tested: Sony PlayStation 3, Blu Ray player) is at a high level. The picture of the normal TV program is very good. However, I would like to mention that you should definitely pay attention to the space between seats. With me are about 4m. Who looks so normal TV program (or SD) mainly with the distance between seats should measure it again.

The 3D effect so far I could only test with the film “Sammy’s Adventure”. Even if the film was not necessarily the most interesting, could convince the 3D fully. The effects were very good and in some scenes the characters were really close to me. The 2D to 3D function could not convince me so much. This creates spatial depth, you cannot compare with original 3D material.

Unfortunately not quite so positive, that there is no internet @ TV, which is known from other Samsung TVs. Despite wireless connection via wireless adapter there is only an update of the program data, and access to the Anynet service, browsing, and using apps do not seem to be possible.

Now to the humming noise that frequently mentioned. YES, it is definitely there and YES, it is mainly found in a bright picture. However for me not major problem, 4m distance from the TV, the humming noise not audible to me and my family.

The only drawback is a reflection, who wants to place the PN59D550 in a bright room or has a window opposite, should know that this TV is reflected extreme. Without the window opposite, and away from direct sunlight, It is good, acceptable, and perfect.
