The old tube TV had given up the ghost and now needed a new. The decision was not easy, searched many websites and read many reviews. Then the considerations “where it should be,” “how much space is available,” “how are the lighting conditions,” and so the decision was made on a LED TV with 40 inch from Samsung UN40D6000.

Now, it was still a matter of finding the lowest bidder. After a long search, I came again to the
amazon.com! So I ordered it for $987.00 + Free Shipping.

Just days later, I received a package. Although It’s quite a bit larger, it was setup much easier than the old. So it was no problem to mount the stand and place the unit. A wall mounting is also possible.

And now switch on…
The start was no more complicated than building up. Power and antenna cable plugged in, In our case with DVB-T, the Samsung has a Freeview digital tuner. The menu is clear and understandable. The tuning was done quickly and you could enjoy the first image. And that’s really a pleasure:

A razor-sharp image, especially in connection with a Blu-ray. However even the normal TV is awesome, some programs look almost as they were in 3D. How to describe it … The picture has somehow depth – simply brilliant.
The resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels (full HD). Even friends who already have LCD or plasma TVs, have expressed very positive about the image in terms of colors, but there are also a way to customize the color schemes.

The image, the color and contrast are very good, whether it is light or dark and reflections you have no problems. Even when looking from the side of the screen (so if you now sometimes does not sit right in front of the television), the picture is still great and you can see everything perfectly.

The sound of the TV is also very good and compared to the old TV anyway. If one want to enjoy movies the Home theater is necessary to attached with the TV to get the full surround effect. However, if watching normal television channel the entirely unnecessary.

A few words about the connections:
There are 4 HDMI port and three USB ports. One should be equipped with built-in media player that allows it to directly from the USB stick photos or watch videos.
Further, There are two other adapter included and that a component adapter and an AV adapter.
Using the AV adapter is connected to PS-2 at the AV-IN port.
There is also a LAN port for connection to the router as to update the device software.
