Sony BRAVIA 40EX500 Series 40-Inch LCD TV

40EX500 Review By “Luis Fenton”

sony bravia ex series 300x195 Sony BRAVIA 40EX500 ReviewI was busy for several weeks whether to put more on plasma or LCD. For plasma actually said the better picture (even with DVB-T) and smoother pictures, however, The LCD better viewing angle and the value for money.

A disadvantage of plasma is that the picture (brightness, contrast, etc.) changes, such as when you stand up from the couch – then the image is darker. A disadvantage of plasma is that the image is really only best when delivering the TV signal and have a great shot with correspondingly good cams. If one uses such as DVB-T only. Ultimately, I decided for LCD.

I bought the TV online from Amazon – there gave it to a sharp price with fair shipping costs.

31.3 pounds are well set up, but first you have to open the very strong (in the sense of “stable”) box and let the LCD gently slide out. Then it can be found on the included foot and screwed. Optionally, you can still buy a wall mount it. I had given up on it.

After setting up and connecting can safely start the automatic channel search. I had the LCD connected via cable, not through DVB-T. Find all the channels took about 5 minutes, the transmitter can be sorted then.

Now going into the menu, Everyone will want to know for themselves what they need and have settings. It must be said that the menu is still very easy to understand

Analog TV with a good antenna cable is fun!
The picture is sharp and clear, the colors very natural, but otherwise can be readjusted perfect. The sound is just as agreeable, just a little too quiet for DVDs. Here, the boxes are still turned a little higher.

The picture would, of course, again with HDMI way better, but I am not yet able to enjoy the HD technology, so I only have analog and DVB-T report (digital).

The remote control is handy. The operation is fairly self-explanatory, but I guess once to read the manual from the TV. Some buttons are not always active, so you can “Bravia Sync” use up only with certain home theater systems from Sony.

Conclusion
Who uses analog TV or HD television equipment, which will have much fun with the Bravia. Even if we may still have a Sony home theater system. Only then does the TV’s full capabilities right out and thanked it with a clear picture, natural color and rich sound.
