I own the Toshiba 55TL515U around 3 weeks ago and I’m extremely satisfied. The TV is processed top, looks very classy and has a super sharp picture.
The unit offers in terms of picture settings a lot of possibilities, so colors can be adjusted and adapted decidedly and many other settings for a satisfactory result.
I recommend the Auto View mode with manual adjustment of the curve of the ambient light sensor. This fit the picture of the TV to the ambient light, which much more pleasant for the eyes, and which the most energy efficient.
Picture Quality:
The FullHD picture quality is tremendous. Quality of HD channels, and especially also the SD channels very well. Composition engine seems to be very good from Toshiba. Movement representation is smooth and fluid, I see no reason for criticism. Whether football game, car racing or 24p film. A judder or flickering I cannot perceive.
3D:
The 3D rendering material succeeds as expected, also excellent. The detailing is excellent, even during motion. The picture stability is very good, the depth effect enormously. It also brings a powerful converter from 2D to 3D, to turn everything into 3D.
Sound:
There are also negative, the sound is tinny, Who looks just like news can live with it. But for me, not too important because I’ve run my Toshiba via sound bar.
Gaming capabilities: given absolutely. The game mode is the way to reduce input lag. I play even in the normal picture mode (auto-view) and see there are no restrictions or delays. To play with the PS3 on this unit is great, razor sharp and no lag.
The Media Player recognized my all storage media (both FAT and NTFS formatted). And played even 720p. Mkv files with supreme ease. Access to the internet service is easy, DailyMotion and YouTube work wonderfully, and even in HD.
Conclusion: An absolute buy recommendation! No matter what you want to do it (Games, watch TV or watch movies), it is ideal for this! Here you cannot go wrong.
