Samsung UE40B6000 40-inch Widescreen LED TV Full HD 1080P Ultra Slim with Freeview

The Samsung UE40B6000 is a TV with LED technology, and is nearly entry-level series of television last generation of Samsung.
I chose because I liked a lot, with its simple design and at the same time elegant and also great image quality.
I speak to mainly of these two aspects that impressed me most.

The TV is very thin because esthetically beautiful, no buttons to adjust volume or change channels, but touch controls on the bottom right panel (just visible in reality but this is perhaps more a virtue than a fault). I also found very stylish swivel glossy black, with a slight hint of red, matching the frame of the screen.

The thinness of the display can only be a habit in many cases, because the television is often seen as the front and even TV sets with LCD or plasma technology are not too bulky, but this TV definitely be an impression of elegance to any you look the part and can thus be considered an item of furniture.

The downside of subtlety is in the impossibility to use a very powerful sound system because of reduced dimension speaker but I found more than enough for a noisy environment is not as it should be the home.

The picture quality is excellent in my opinion. Some argue, probably rightly, that the images more realistic and more fluid like you have plasma TVs, however, I like more color brightness of LCD or LED systems.

I’m not noticed wake effects on specific disorders or images, including scenes carefully observing very rapid.

Another thing that surprised me very much and the quality of the digital decoder. I state that before buying this TV because I live in Rome, where now are only visible on the digital terrestrial channels, I bought a decoder than commercial to lengthen the life of my old TV.

However, receiving some channels was poor, some, like Boeing did not see them right. I finally decided to throw the old TV and buy the Samsung UE40B6000.

With the Samsung UE40B6000, I can see all channels perfectly without any trimming. The reception is really great! In addition, being equipped with HD set top box, you can see the new high definition hd digital channels.

To talk of other things that impressed me. The remote control with backlight, which I found comfortable, functional and equipped with adequate power, and USB input for viewing photos or play MP3 files.

However, with regard to the latter element, but I put a gap in the TV software: you can not play movies stored on devices connected to the USB port.

This is perhaps more of a gap that a commercial decision because we wanted to give this functionality to set more like 7000 than 6000, which is characterized only by increased connectivity and a more advanced software.

The only hope of being able to watch movies on 40b6000 via USB and comes out in future firmware upgrade. but be careful because these updates, from what little I’ve seen, are not adequately documented, and above all, being free software, Samsung said, the manual upgrade, the upgrade is at your own risk.

Back to the software, or perhaps I should say more correctly the firmware of the TV, I would stress that could be done, in my opinion easily, televisions capable of playing most audio / video and can record directly covered on mass storage through USB port, even with all the normal functions of a traditional video recorder (programming, indexing, search ..). Would not find comfortable?

Finally, the Samsung 40b6000 is, in my opinion, an excellent TV and I’m glad I bought even has a price high enough when you consider that plasma TV or LCD of the same size cost about half.

PS: Please correct the written part (about two months ago) because I found on the Internet that you can view movies from usb setting the TV setup ue40b6000 ue40b7000 model with the system described below.

1. Enter the menu ‘of service with the sequence of these keys, TV remote off: INFO MENU’-MUTE-POWER
2. Menu ‘which will open’ go in and change the OPTION-MODEL A model UB6000 UB7000
3. restart the TV, now when you insert a usb key there is also the voice MOVIE where you can play video files

That way I could play video on my TV in avi format, but I immediately restored the correct configuration because there are no guarantees that this operation does not produce side effects.
