My mother was looking for a new TV to replace their old tube TV.

Requirements:
- Specified dimensions by cupboard
- Built-in satellite receiver
- Good picture quality
- Easy to operate
- Only TV application (no Accessories/3D/Internet etc.)
- Good value for money

Since we have Sony, Panasonic and Samsung as flat screens already in use and the quality and the value for money from Samsung in my opinion and in comparison to the other devices is very good and So we decided to buy Samsung UN40D5003.

All requirements have been met and complete the picture quality here is extremely convincing. Also, the SD channels are good quality, as one can imagine. The structure (unpacking, stand mounted) including tuning, channel sorting, picture and sound, testing was done in 2 hours. The menus are easy to understand even without guidance from the menus self-explanatory.

My mother came with the ease at once clear and has no problems. She is especially excited by the device and the picture quality.

Sound:
Due to the slim design, one must not expect the super sound through the built-in speaker. Who here wants more should be followed by an external sound system. For the average user, the sound is adequate and can be adjusted via the adjustment to the local conditions. After changes in the sound menu and here especially the EQ to bring the built-in speaker also has a good sound. This effect is well with me and the sound is improved.

Channel sorting:
Samsung has its problems with the sorting station. For this reason, I’ve run in the official tools from Samsung (PC Channel List Editor) and the private solution (SamyGO Channel Editor) downloaded from the website.

Important in this case was suitable for my mother (75 +) Remote control: large buttons for starting and for channel selection and Volume control, small buttons for all functions, which sees through anyway just by the next generations of technology.

Conclusion: I would buy this product again, because the price / performance ratio is really good … a strong buy recommendation from me …!!!
