Panasonic tc p46g10 Review by : “Mark”

panasonic tcp46g10 300x237 Panasonic Plasma tc p46g10 ReviewI had buy to replace my “old” CRT TV, still working, but too bulky for my new home, I started my own searches info of the flat screen TV to find one that was closer, as the budget and features, to my personal needs.

Like many people, I think, had initially rejected the plasma TV in question, I later discovered was wrong, an old technology and outdated by the highest performing LCD TVs.

We were wrong. The LCD technology has made great strides (I avoid here to bore you with long disquisitions on the characteristics of the various edge LED, LED dimmers, etc) and many of the initial problems (trails, artifacts and so on) were almost completely solved, at least in the top models.
But at present to achieve the same video quality of a plasma, you need to spend much more (up to 1,300 USD).

That’s why, starting from the need to have a TV of 46″ which did not make me regret my old CRT TV to 100 Hz, which then worked fine both SD signals (DVD and digital terrestrial) and HD (Sky HD and Blu-ray) I came to choose a plasma TV. And if you say plasma, Panasonic say: the only manufacturer to have  invested heavily on this technology to become the reference point (excluding Pioneer).

The alternative, to stay in my budget (1000-1300 USD) were two all-new G10 series and the previous S10. The main differences are:
G10 Neo PDP Panel, which defines the state of the art for plasma today
S10 G12 panel series of 2009 (better panel anyway)
600 Hz (sub-field) for G10
400 Hz for the S10

After seeing them in action side by side I had no doubts and I chose the TC-P46G10 to about 1,300 USD, taking advantage of the offer from SKY Euronics.Panasonic Plasma tcp46g10 300x240 Panasonic Plasma tc p46g10 Review

The differences are not  in my opinion, valuable for viewing. It is hard to recognize the improvements in more than 200 HZ.
And we are the first impressions of this wonderful TV:

Aesthetics: nothing special, in line with other Panasonic models, but nice and discreet (as can be discreet panel 46 “!)
Videos: impressive especially as something to keep the traditional signals in SD: fluid images without any trail, natural colors, deep blacks. Today, I had no problem on alleged retention image (bugbear of all plasma TV a few years ago, now almost nonexistent).

Audio: As with all flat TV, nothing special, but discreet.
Use: easy and quick set-up initial connected the antenna, the TV automatically saves all channels in both analogue and digital terrestrial. Convenient access to the inputs that they do not miss almost nothing: 4 HDMI (1 side) 2 scart (1 RGB), Component input, PC input, optical and analog audio input, an SD slot to view photos directly, movies and music. The only lack is a USB input that I would have appreciated more than an SD slot.

In addition, you can count on plus the Viera series that allow to easily manage multiple appliances with one remote control Panasonic.
Well, what about: if you are not fanatics, but you want a TV that works well in any situation, go safe on the Panasonic TC-P46G10

This may be off base, but how about changing the theme every now and then? Maybe not if it won’t look right, but I just get tired of seeing the same thing all the time. My own computer has about 1000 wallpapers that randomly rotate every 15 minutes, lol. Adult ADD I guess. Good post though, thanks.
